It is basically impossible to not get wet in the jungle, so having the right footwear is critical. These classic jungle boots have vent holes and a canvas upper to aid in ventilation and moisture drainage. First tested in Panama and then used in WWII, most notably use during the Vietnam war, where they were in their natural habitat. These versions are post-Vietnam war and strangely made under contract for the Brits! The UK military had a go at making their own jungle boot which became so hated that they officially got some new ones made under US contract. Hence the made in USA label but with UK size markings!
Enough about the history though - these boots still set the gold standard for jungle fighting today in many militaries. The quality canvas and nylon upper is breathable yet strong. There is also a metal shank inside the sole. No this is not a James Bond style hidden knife, it's actually for protection from bamboo stake traps or other things that could penetrate the sole. The Panama style soles allow mud to flow out the sides to stop your feet from getting sucked down further into mud. There may be a few marks from storage but these are in unissued condition! If you're going outdoors in humid jungle terrain, these are the boots you'll be needing.
